March marks the start of Women’s History Month, that’s why we wanted to take this opportunity to give a shoutout to a few of our many incredibly talented women at Browzwear and celebrate their hard work and determination which greatly impacts the success of our company each and every day. We chatted with Rian, Raaya, Missy, and Anne from our global teams to gain insight into their roles and see what advice they could offer to other women looking to embark on a similar career path.

Meet Rian from Singapore

What’s your role at Browzwear?

I am the learning experience designer at Browzwear, specializing in content creation and curriculum planning for online learning content like the Browzwear University or Masterclasses!

What do you love about your position as a Learning Experience Designer?

As a learning experience designer, I always love it when I see that the curriculum and content that we produce has allowed the users to understand and deepen their knowledge of the software! It is satisfying to know that our content is helping users out there be able to implement and utilize 3D more efficiently

If you could give a tip to a young woman looking to build a career in your field, what would it be?

As a woman, I believe that we are usually nurturing and compassionate beings, which makes us great teachers. To be able to design curriculums and plan content for users to benefit from, we can apply our ability to place ourselves in the shoes of those learning and ask ourselves, “What do we want to see? What is the best way for us to learn and understand the concepts?”.

What advice have you received in the past that empowered you?

“Define your own success!” was one of the most empowering tips I have received. Don’t let society tell you what you can or cannot be. Everyone is successful in their own ways. To be career-minded or family-minded, to be empowered by money or to be empowered by humility, as long as we are happy with what we do, then we are the most successful people 🤩

Meet Raaya from Israel

What’s your role at Browzwear?

I am a software developer at Browzwear, focusing on improving and building new features for the Open Platform and VStitcher API. I work alongside our partners and clients who work with our API and provide them with the support needed to ensure a seamless digital journey.

What do you love about your position as a Software Developer?

I have to say that I love solving problems, and my role as a software developer at Browzwear enables me to do so every day. One of the most exciting parts of my job is being to take a problem and investigate it by breaking it down into pieces and seeing how each part pieces together to build the right solution. I enjoy the challenges that I am faced with throughout my role, as they enable me to learn and grow consistently.

If you could give a tip to a young woman looking to build a career in your field, what would it be?

I would suggest joining a group that empowers women in the tech industry and focuses on enabling young aspiring software developers to achieve their goals. It’s also great to have a mentor who can guide you throughout your journey and introduce you to other females who also share your aspirations. It’s important to surround yourself with others who believe in you and help build your self-confidence.

What advice have you received in the past that empowered you?

“Trust yourself” is a tip that empowered me. Trust yourself. Don’t spend time doubting your skills. Don’t be afraid to try new things and to step out of your comfort zone, trust that you have what it takes to succeed!

Meet Missy from the United States

What’s your role at Browzwear?

I work as a 3D Apparel Development specialist on the North America team. My focus is client support.

What do you love about your position as a 3D Apparel Development Specialist?

I love getting to work with such a wide variety of users. Daily, we will receive questions from beginners, who just started training in the software, to experts, who have been leading their 3D team for many years. Working with the beginner, it’s so rewarding to see the encouragement in them after helping a new user solve a problem and share tips on how to troubleshoot for future files. Working with the advanced user, we get to push our experience as far as possible, exploring every possible option and presenting to them our best solution. Additionally, we get to share these experiences with our product team to help identify needs for future product development.

If you could give a tip to a young woman who wants to build a career in your field, what would it be?

Take advantage of as many opportunities as you can to work in 3D and talk about 3D. Share your interest with those around you and learn as much as you can. When you meet someone in that career, share your excitement about it. Be enthusiastic about your interests and those around you will remember you when an opportunity arises.

What advice have you received in the past that empowered you?

When I was young, my mother would take me shopping and show me a piece of clothing she thought I would like. I would say “yeah, but not quite”. She said, “That’s okay. What would make this perfect?” She encouraged me to work towards my ideal and create exactly what I had in my mind. From that advice, here I am today making designs even better in 3D.

Meet Anne from the Netherlands

What’s your role at Browzwear?

I work as a 3D Apparel Specialist on the European team, focusing on training and support for new and existing clients.

What do you love about your position as a 3D Apparel Development Specialist?

Throughout my time at Browzwear, I can quite honestly say that each day is different which is part of why my role is exciting. It’s so rewarding to be able to introduce 3D and teach entirely new ways of working to people who have never touched on it before and be a part of their unique digital journey. It’s also great to be working in a global team, we are all spread across different parts of the world, and despite being far apart everyone is always happy to jump on a call, share information, and help each other out.

If you can give a tip to a young woman looking to build a career as a 3D Apparel Specialist what would you tell her?

Always be open-minded and willing to learn new things from others. The field is so vast and there is not only one way of doing things, that’s why it’s so important to value the knowledge and experience of those around you. Be empathetic and patient, we are working with fellow humans and change is not easy but we can help make it easier and of course, fun!

What advice have you received in the past that empowered you?

Stop overthinking. As women, we can often spend much of our time overthinking before making a decision, or even once we have made it. However, when it comes down to it, there is really nothing to lose. Of course, it’s important to think things through, but have the confidence to make a decision and stick with it.

Thank you to Rian, Raaya, Missy, and Anne for taking the time to share some of your empowering tips and insights, we know it’s just a drop of the endless inspiration that you can bring. We would also like to thank every woman that is a part of Browzwear and the industry, may we continue to grow and thrive, while supporting each other. This month, we’re celebrating the outstanding achievements of women globally forging a path forward for women’s equality and advancement.
